Dax and Bisa love each other. But in this new and terrifying world, love is dangerous. Feeling anything is dangerous. Earth has a new and terrible invader-monsters that deprive us of the very feelings that make us human.

A shocking tale of pent-up emotions, perilously loud sex, and forced composure in the face of unspeakable horror…from one of the most celebrated writers in comics, Peter Milligan (X-Force, Enigma, Shade, the Changing Man, Hellblazer) and breakout horror artist Sally Cantirino (I Walk With Monsters, The Final Girls).

I want to express the emotions that this incredible start to Human Remains gave me, but I don’t want the Life-Forms to get me. Let’s just say you REALLY don’t want to miss this one! I LOVE it – oh no! AHH —

I think we’re safe in here. Let’s talk about these emotions in private – away from those things. I am filled with joy & fear & horror over this issue. Never have I ever been more excited to be afraid to turn the page and see what new horrors await. Between Peter Milligan’s storytelling and Sally Cantirino’s and Dearbhla Kelly’s art, I felt like I was a part of this world. The horror was coming off of the pages and the emotions that were unable to be shown by the characters were felt by the reader tenfold over.

Horror comics are very popular right now, but this one stands out amongst crowd taking horror in an all new direction. We get a mashup of the horror of these alien creatures mixed with a different kind of horror when people can’t express the emotions that they are feeling, for fear of people killed on the spot by those creatures.

After reading I Walk with Monsters, I knew Cantirino has a lot of talent creating horrific art and she continues to excel in Human Remains. Her art combined with Kelly’s colors depict a world of horror that is sure to cause nightmares. If you are a horror fan that is looking for something different than just monsters, this is the book for you! Fans of The Quiet Place are certain to enjoy this story as well.

Be safe out there and bury those emotions deep or the Life-Forms will get you.
